This is the only
two part
episode in the entire original show.
It stars
Robert Duvall
(an TOL alumnus)
and
Steve Inhat
who played Lord Garth in the original
Star Trek
episode
Whom Gods Destroy
(S3 E4).
Also appearing are
Ivan Dixon
and
Leon Askin
who will both later appear in
Hogan's Heroes
.
An investigator
(Robert Duval)
seeks four ex-soldiers, each shot in the head with bullets fashioned from a meteorite, who heal and develop genius minds. They begin to carry out an alien mission against their own will. They build a space ship and gather children. But is their mission evil or good? I actually figured out the answer about halfway through.
Unlike most episodes, there is no "Bear"
(monster)
. Instead, it's an amazing and beautiful episode. It's intelligent, driving, compelling drama, and one of the
very best
episodes in the series.
Steve Inhat
as Lt. Minnis with the children.
Rating: Four Zantis

Note:
Only six more episodes to go.

Oi!
I guess it's true what they say. There is absolutely no accounting for taste.
Meanwhile,
Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey
asked me about an episode which he thinks was from
TOL
that:
"had a scene near the beginning with a scientist observing two dogs fighting, then somehow getting into the mind or brain chemistry of the dogs. He saw how fast the dogs were reacting to different moments in the fight, enabling them to counterattack effectively. His research enabled him to figure out a way to give men/soldiers to have the same ability and it was kind of like they saw everything in slow motion, so they could counterpunch and/or be more effective in hand-to-hand combat."
I told him that I went back over my list, and could not find anything like this, but would check with you. I also suggested that maybe it was a
Twilight Zone
episode.
Do you recall anything like this in a
TOL
episode, or from any other sci-fi series?

— 2 years ago(September 16, 2023 07:40 AM)It's NOT from the ORIGINAL CLASSIC versions of EITHER show! I'd check the 80s REHASH of '
TTZ
' and the 90s REHASH of '
TOL
'. OR it could be from some OTHER series or film.
