Is this one of the first major American films to present an African American's experience on the same level as the Caucasian's? There is no mention of his race with the other survivors. He's another soldier as they were.
Plus, I don't remember any film before, and few in the decade following, that showed an African American husband and wife in bed together.
It's a great film and this is one aspect I've always noticed as perhaps being ahead of the curve.
I slept with you and you're in love with my husband. What the hell am I supposed to do with that?
