    Was it? It looked quite similar and I couldn't find anything about it online.
    I've heard the same Clock Tower was used in movies in the past, but I'm not sure if this was one of them.

          It's still there on the Universal back lot. The facade of the building has changed a bit, the columns aren't there anymore, at least not as of Feb 2012, but the building exists as part of their main street USA set. If you take the Universal Studios Hollywood tour you'll go right past it.

                Actually the clock tower appears in a lot of Universal movies. Ever seen To Kill a Mockingbird it's in their. XD

                  if you type back to the future imdb filming locations and then type inherit the wind imdb filming locations, you'll find the answer.
