I just bought the disc primarily to watch Sophia Loren in her early years, but I was surprised at the way she was made to look in this film. Her skin was extremely reddish tan, very unusual and unnatural, as if she was just back from building a bridge on the river Kwai. And her teeth were too white. Especially the upper row. When she smiled, it looked like she is holding a fluorescent lamp inside her mouth.
I guess it was probably a creative experiment with make-up styles during those times, but it definitely did not make her look more beautiful or realistic IMO. -

I just got a new HD tv and at times her face cheeks look almost bruised. She has this overdone Mexican inspired looking makeup job & ugly bob hair. I wonder what the thinking behind this was. I wonder if someone was trying to sabatoge her and made her up to lopk lile this in the movie. Or maybe she had a mexican makeup artist.
