Peter Gunn is currently (end of January 2012) in the middle of season two on MeTV as broadcast locally (Bellingham, WA). At the beginning of each episode is a "Liberation" logo which is the name of the company which released the first two seasons on DVD in England (a vastly superior transfer to the episodes released by A&E in North America). This makes me think that they have current rights to the show, several episodes of which I thought were in the public domain. Does anyone know if they have the rights to season THREE (or has MeTV actually broadcast season three anywhere yet)?

To answer my own question, MeTV did run all of season three, right to the end. Then they went back to the first show of the first season. BUT I noticed the quality of the print of the first show as broadcast on MeTV is noticeably inferior to that on the UK DVD release, which was put out by the same company, Liberation Entertainment, whose logo appears at the beginning of the MeTV episodes.
Also noticed something else peculiar when I was finishing up my Peter Gunn episode project (

) that, according to IMDB, the very last show was broadcast on 18 September 1961, whereas the second-last show was seen on 26 June.
The last show is quite different than normal, considering there are only two guest stars, one of whom is executive producer of the show Gordon Oliver, the other is Robert Gist, who directed many of the show's episodes, including the final one. Both of these guys appeared in roles in earlier episodes. Associate producer Byron Kane, who was Barney the Bartender in earlier shows (often uncredited) appears very briefly in the final episode as well.
