A lot of posters seem to dislike this movie and Marilyn's performance in it. Yet in a special movie made after her death, Rock Hudson cites that the reviews for this movie were where the critics first referred to her as "MM."
Clearly, seeing this movie when it premiered - with no idea of the films that would come after it like "Seven Year Itch" and "Some Like It Hot" - must have been a much different experience for the viewers of that time.

No, she was referred to as MM as early as 1952.

This movie made me question Marylin's talent. This was the first film I've seen her in and heard her sing in. I've seen other films of hers since then but with her not singing. Anyway, I thought she was terrible and merely a pretty face to add to the film. I'll never understand her appeal.
