My dog, Margot, was sitting in my lap and she wouldn't take her eyes off the screen. I usually try to interest her in movies that feature other dogs, but she apparently enjoyed this. The violent love scenes between Robert Ryan and Barbara Stanwyck captivated her.
There is no "off" position on the genius switch.

Show her "The Wild Bunch" and see if she howls in grief when Robert Ryan gets shot.

Just in case it was Barbara Stanwyck that held her attention, show her "Sorry, Wrong Number" and see if she growls at Burt Lancaster.
