The guy who asked for 400 francs in exchange for the info he had on whose toupee it was. He looks REALLY familiar. I thought it might be an actor best known now for his elderly character roles in the 80s and 90s (remember the old guy from Wings who used to say 'He screwed me blue!'?). Is he listed as Spy in the cast list?

He does look familiar. Probably one of those bit players who showed up regularly in films, but were never known by name.
I'm the kind of guy, when I move - watch my smoke. But I'm gonna need some good clothes though.

Yes, he is listed as "Spy" in the cast list. The actor, David Hoffman, is also found in the framing story of Flesh and Fantasy (now available on Universal DVD-MOD) and according to the IMDb it's his head floating in the crystal ball in the introductions to the "Inner Sanctum" series by Universal in the 1940s. I haven't checked my Inner Sanctum DVDs, but that could be right; the guy had a weird-shaped face.

At first I thought he was Jose Ferrer.
