i just caught this movie on flix, and i swear i saw rita hayworth with a bit part, as one of the gibson girls, i think thats what they were called, where she has a line to sing, and stands beautifully on a pedestal with scarves flowing in the wind, along with a bunch of other gals!
but she is not listed in the credits of this movie, and this movie is not listed on her imdb page either
rita hayworth is the only person who ever looked like rita hayworth, so i dont know how i could be mistaken
plus, dont you think danny kaye and doug wilson [of 'trading spaces] look exactly alike, if doug were to dye his hair red, of course? -

The girls are the Goldwyn girls
Plus i think you may be refering to "Up in arms" not wonder man
There is a sequence when several girls are on pillers with scarves to represent torches. lead by Dinah Shore -

No no noit's definitely Wonder Man! The Hayworth (lookalike?) sings "Oh you poor smitten kitten, at the wedding you will stand". She's singing it to Vera Ellen (Midge Mallon in the film) during the absolute masterpiece which is the "So in love"/Goldwyn Girls song and dance section. My favourite dance routine in any movie! It's so good to talk about this stuff!

I know this post is several months old, but I just had to say YAY!!! I also love that dance routine, that whole bit of the movie is fabulous, I've watched it millions of times, haha.
Hail, hail Robonia

I thought one of the Goldwyn Girls looked just like Rita Hayworth too - but she was already a big star when it was made and I seriously doubt she would have been a Goldwyn Girl. (I think one of the Goldwyn Girls looked like my mom too!)

Why not though I have seen the movie in years? Lana Turner haa cameo in DUBARRY WAS A LADY and was the butt of a joke in the musical number. You also have Boris Karloff playing the homicidal brother in ARSENIC AND OLD LACE on Broadway, but that was a major role and Burt Lancaster as a would be actor who looks too much like Burt Lancaster in an old WB musical.
