This movie exaggerated, well even flat out lied, the adverse effects of smoking pot. But the overwhelming idea that pot never hurt anybody on these boards is getting to me.
Even if pot never causes the death of brain cells, or psychosis, it's still and addiction that can take hold of people's lives (certainly not to the laughable extent in this film). People spend a fair amount of money on it over time, neglect things. Plus, it's not too good for your lungs and fitness. I'm not against smoking pot. Alot of people I know, including myself, have done it, but spreading the message that it's harmless to the not-so-smart people at IMDB is a little dangerous, ofcourse.
What I'm saying is, there's probably no one locked up in a mental house because they smoked pot erratically when they were 19, but "pot is harmless" is a little of an overstatement. -

Yet another moron attempting to push the "pot is bad, mkay" beep
Heres a list of things that can cause various types of serious physical problems AND damage to the human brain, that can and do result in/an increase of: psychosis, schizophrenia, brain damage, depression, bipolar disorder, delusions, hallucinations, and various mental permanent or an increase in problems associated with mental problems.- Panadol
- Over the counter sleep medications
- Aspirin
- Over the counter pain medications
- Various forms of general birth control
- Alcohol
- Caffeine
- Various types of over the counter herbal medicines
- Various types of over the counter vitamins
- Cigarettes
- Hormonal treatments
- Some forms of chemical treated snack food
- Basic approved pesticides and fertilizers (from inhaling even slightly)
And on and on it goes
All of which anyone can take, and if predisposed to a certain condition, get that condition or increase the problems of an already existing condition by taking any of the above over the counter products.
And thats only if you DONT know you have that condition or that product would do that. And if you DID know, then im sorrytake your pathetic beep somewhere else if you want to blame a product you know will cause YOU SPECIFICALLY (not as a general populous member) such problems after you know it can or will and you take it anyway.
So sorry, the only problems it causes in mental damage like psychosis is in those with preexisting conditions that are either brought out because they didnt know (just as any of the above products can) or because they took it knowing it could.
Try again?
On top of which, the problems you mention as "caused by marijuana" are ridiculously absurd in terms of marijuana's involvement. - Its an addiction: No, not its not. It is not physically addictive and does not meet the criteria for an addictive substance. Let me name some things that are as addictive as marijuana; shopping, computer games, sex, competition, rape. Coffee is more addiction than marijuana, and it is physically addictive.
- It can take hold of peoples lives: Lets have a look at some things that can "take hold of peoples lives". Shopping, computer games, sex, competitionwell you get the idea.
- People neglect things on marijuana: I really shouldn't even have to tell you what a beep moron you are with such a statement after my above two points.
- Its not good for your lungs: Im wasn't aware that ingesting cookies baked from marijuana was "bad for your lungs". Oh, did you mean the inhaling of smoke from a marijuana cigarette being bad for your lungs? Oh yes, im sure that means marijuana is bad, not the inhaling of burning leaf and paper in the form of smoke. Yep.
- Its bad for your health: About as bad a glass of red wine. And about as bad in excess as a burger.
Pot IS harmless. The word harmless is a laymans term, not a scientific definition. And it means almost free of harm. As nothing is actually free from harm, at all.
So no, you beep idiot, "pot is harmless" is not a overstatement.
Get the beep out with your "you shouldn't spread the message that pot is harmless cause thats dangerous". The only people causing problems here is those like yourself who insist it be bad no matter how much people explain in detail that its no more dangerous than coffee and should be as legal and available as alcohol.

Geezmaybe you need a little puff. Relax maneveryone is entitled to their own opinion even if it is (no pun) half baked.
If you wanna get down to it, nothing in life is harmless. The food we eat is full of chemicals so is the air we breathe. Even the planet we live on is tuckering out. We're all gonna die eventually and personally, I'll be pissed if I die healthy.

I've been doing some interesting reading. You have one "opionion" and someone has another. So I researched it. The evidence seems conflicting based on the research. Of course, you'll claim bias on research that refutes your point of view and the other person will claim bias on research that refutes his. The fact is you're ingesting something you seem to have blind faith in just because you like it. Do more research from varying sources. Don't just accept what liberal bloggers tell you because you want to believe it.
