I recently watching the 117 minute cut of the film, only to see there are longer versions available. Does anybody know where it's possible to get the 140/384 minute versions of the film? Also, I'm actually questioning the existence entirely of the Swedish cut that apparently runs 6+ hours. Maybe I'm being pessimistic, but it seems a little odd.

The version I saw was 143 minutes and according to the DVD intro this was part of a restoration which added to the original version you saw. I don't think there is any print left in existence which exceeds the 143 minute version. The original version as far as I am aware was 6 hours long but this was cut by Universal before it was even shown in Theatres.

It's a shame that the 6+ hour version no longer exists. While I loved the movie, it felt rushed at some parts that could have been developed in far greater detail.

You're kidding, right? It felt rushed? Seriously?
It's really interesting to read about all the different lengths of the film and how the studio cut it down, before other people revisiting it in later years start re-inserting bits that had been cut. Well, I don't know speciically which bits were cut, I've just finished watching the 140 minute version, and I have to say it's probably about an hour too long. I struggle to think of a more pointlessly bloated film (OK, maybe most things by Tarantino).
What I watched was a really good film, but it was like someone kept interrupting and making it take too long, or putting unnecessary padding in that actually reduced the impact of scenes. In the end, what I could easily have given a 7/10 for, I rated at 4/10 as it's just too indulgent and flabby. Pity.
Incidentally, if the OP is still looking, I watched the film from youtube,
          .

The film was originally to be six hours long, but censored to about 130 minutes. Probably because of some unacceptable parts in it.
