    Does anyone else
    vastly
prefer the original cut to the director's cut? I really dislike the DC, and the (unnecessary) animation has already dated.
    What do you think?

I don't think I've ever seen the Director's cut, but the original is probably my favorite thing regarding Pink Floyd, albums included.

Yeah, it's incredible. Watching it again now.
The DC adds in excerpts of unnecessary and dated animation during some of the songs, which removes some of the precise and brilliant editing/visuals of the original cut.

I don't think I've ever seen the director's cut, either, and it's also one of my favorite things Pink Floyd ever did. And it doesn't hurt that I've watched in in various altered states of consciousness over the years.

Yeah, it's a really fantastic piece of work.
And it's great to get a very adept cinematic painting of the band in, arguably, their most artistically driven and experimental period.
