When did the movies stop being as open, the late 1990s but not due to Titanic? in the US. Maybe, it was the internet. Europeans “didn’t like” AOL. Webcam which I’d love esp. in 1997 and 1998 and even IM and I know for me chat didn’t take off. MySpace was big, and I perused Facebook apps early on.

BTW, I happen to love European horror cinema. I was raving about the films of French director Jean Rollin a couple of weeks ago. So, yeah, there's truth to what you're saying.

Americans are cute!
Europeans are mysterious, stimulating, and “help themselves.” Most Americans desire Europe and Europeans but are not jealous.
Mary Poppins was my favorite, watched the most from age 2. I watched lots of other TV like age 5 or 6 and under. I watched Disney also with my younger brother a lot. Etc.
