A man on horseback rides into a town with a small (very-small in fact) stream running down the middle of the dirt road. A grizzled, bearded man sees him and goes running into the hotel. He mentions this to the old female cook. She gets a broom and taps on the ceiling. The man in the floor above taps his foot on the floor indicating he's heard her. He goes to the wall and rips of the page to the calendar for the new day. He goes down and greets the hotel-clerk (manager) and then goes into the kitchen and sits at the table there and talks with the old cook. I believe that after he's done he gets up and leaves giving her a kiss on the side of her face.
A couple in a two-person buggy (carriage) arrive in town. The man from the kitchen says hi to them.

Briefly here's some of what's happened since the last time:
The Man
(hero) goes to the barber for a shave. While he's sitting in the chair (apron on)
The Other Man
(the one who rode into town on horseback at the beginning of the film) comes in and notices
The Man

gun and holster hung-up on a coat-rack.
The Other Man
pulls out his gun and shoots only to get shot by
The Man
'
s
hidden small
Derringer
gun. He tells the barber to tell the doctor about it.
The Other Man
has a brother who's a big rough-and-tough type who abhors guns.
The Other Man
'
s Brother
refuses to accept the money given to him for his brother's death.
The Others
'
Mother
is there too.
The Man
goes to meet a woman just arriving into town on the stagecoach. She's a singer/dancer (maybe an actress too?). They know each other from the past, but are mum about it. Later she does a show and after she leaves to go to her dressing room
The Man
is there waiting for her. The two talk about their time together in some dirtwater backhole town. She was his wife or is now his ex-wife.
Some other stuff happens and later on
The Man
gets into a brawl (fistfight) with
The Other Man'
s Brother
. After the fight is over two men haul
TOMB
off to jail as told to by
TM
.
The Dancer
saw the fight from a window.
The Man
goes to the jail to sleep.
The Man
is
The Marshal
(this has already been established since he first appeared, or soon afterwards).
