Well, I am a sucker for the 80s John Hughes classics. Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, and Pretty in Pink are all great.
And then
Grease (1978)-The original high school musical, need I say more?
Scream (1996)- Well, pretty much the definitive teen slasher. Not meaning its only for teens, but it was aimed at them mostly, and covers teen-movie type things such as sex and parties. Oh, and I adore this movie. Lol
Cant Hardly Wait (1998)-Ahh, the teen angst movies of the 90s
The Faculty (1998)- The great thing about this movie, is that it really is just fun. And when you watch it, it FEELS like the 90s, Feels like a fun slasher, and feels like a teen flick.
Cherry Falls (2000)- Little known slasher starring Brittany Murphy. If people would actually realize what this movie is, a tongue-in-cheek satire, and stop criticizing it for being a bad horror movie, the viewing experience would be a lot more fun.
Camp (2003)- Independent film about a group of kids summer at musical theater camp. Yes, it appears to appeal to a specific group of teens-theater geek and/or lgbt, and it isnt very highly rated, but, any cringe-worthy moments aside, it really is a funny and emotional little movie that actually addresses at least one issue for every teen out there. This movie features friendship drama, crushes, sexual curiosity/confusion/identity, goals and dreams, first experiences, OCD, struggles to be accepted by peers, parents, and other adults, and weight issues.
Mean Girls (2004)- As much as Im sure some of us who liked this movie dont want to admit it, we liked it, it has some clever and humorous dialogue and moments. -
