It gets unfairly critisised i think.
Marlon Brando is probably the greatest of all actors and his performance is a reason to watch The Island Of Dr Moreau (1996).
He gets critisism for doing this film, but to be fair to him his daughter had just died and his son was in prison, so i doubt he really cared about the film, sure he was a womaniser and not the best father but it is tragic, and i dont think it is fair to judge him for appearing in this film.
He may have been interested as the HG Wells novel is quite good, and who better to play basically a god like figure than Brando?
I wonder what Val Kilmer is doing in this film, he was weak link in it.
I rate it 5/10, compared to some of the films other great actors like De Niro and Pacino have done, this is a masterpiece.
