I'll admit, I had no idea what was going on with this, and was completely caught off guard as this unfolded.

Yes, I did as well. I liked it because it felt very original, and because I really did not see the plot coming…not a single bit! This was very unexpected. Plenty of potential scenarios crossed my mind, but not this one.
