I just saw it and found it to be a really emotionally powerful experience, and I'm surprised it's not rated higher in Martin Scorsese's work. I might actually call it his personal best movie for me, but I need more time for it to settle in first.
But what do you think of it? -

Though attacked as blasphemous by the church, it was probably the most accurate portrayal of Jesus's life as a man. And it held true to the New Testament. He still completed his sacrifice on the cross.
The Biblical account has always held that Christ experienced life in the flesh as a human. It's not contradictory to Christian faith.
