I love this movie. Taste is subjective and there are a lot of thematically heavy directors out there. Ingmar Bergman comes to mind.
But for my sensibilities, Rainier Werner Fassbinder is my favorite. And this 1978 film about a pathetic transsexual is his most profoundly moving film. Of the ones that I have seen, of course.
Anybody else seen this movie?
