Everyone knows that the greatest action movie of all-time is the 1996 Masterpiece “Independence Day” and that has a PG-13 rating.

Doesn't an R rating mean it isn't aimed at teenagers? Otherwise they are putting up an obstacle for their target audience.

Teenagers flock to “R” rated films because they think it’s “cool”. Adults care more about story, character, cinematography…..those movies tend to be rated PG-13

I don't think teenagers are admitted into R movies without an adult. It would be smarter to cut the film down to PG-13 if they want to get teenagers.
