Final Draft 12 is no different to Final Draft 7 when it comes to the actual using of it. Namely to convert an .rtf document to Final Draft. The auto-formatting is very good such that I would say that it is an intelligent software. It leaves the dialogue intact most of the way through a screenplay, but the character names and parentheticals are unformatted, and you have to go through it correcting each one by one. So the editing process of a screenplay can be tedious. Perhaps later versions of Final Draft will correct this.
The option to have it in A4 size instead of Letter size is good (for UK or USA), but on opening one screenplay that had a 1.5 inch left margin it reverted to a 1 inch margin in Final Draft and there was no way to fix it.

On occasions you get big blank spaces between the end of a bit of text and the next bit of text, more than a half a page, and you can't delete or cut it or highlight and delete it. So you just leave it and hope that your agent will assume that it is because of a technical issue with Final Draft 12.
Often when using the Character tab to auto-format it to the correct tab stop, it auto-adds a second (CONT'D). This also occurs when you click the Dialogue tab.
