        First Contact was the best.

            Star Trek the Final Frontier
(1989) I have probably watched this at least five times, each time hoping it will get better, but it doesn't
            Star Trek Nemesis
(2002) - slightly better than Final Frontier, a near complete mess and the TNG crew looks even less ready for the big screen
            Star Trek Insurrection
(1998) - hard to believe with the success of First Contact they couldn't come up with a better story than this, would not even be a good tv episode
            Star Trek Into Darkness
(2013) - I guess on paper bringing back Khan seemed like a good idea but Cumberbatch was a terrible choice and with all the action and massive production the last thing I expected was to be bored
            Star Trek Beyond
(2016) - has a few decent scenes early on but it's way too early in the Kelvin timeline for Kirk to be bored, silly beyond belief that he is a starship captain and once we get into the main story it becomes nonsense
            Star Trek Generations
(1994) - a decent effort but proof to me the TNG crew was never big screen ready, except for Stewart
            Star Trek the Voyage Home
(1986) - hugely popular and there are some wonderful short scenes but overall I felt the whale story with the alien probe made no sense at all
            Star Trek First Contact
(1996) - still like it a lot but not nearly as much as I used to, upon repeated viewings it suffers more each time, the Borg are kinda bland to me and the Queen made no sense, best scenes are with Stewart because of his superior acting.
            Star Trek
(2009) very entertaining film though at no time did I feel this is a genuine Star Trek film, the only character who seems somewhat like the original character is Urban as Bones, the idea they would advance a recent academy graduate to captaincy is honestly one of the most absurd things in all of film history
Star Trek the Search for Spock
(1984) the search is for Spock but this is Shatner's film as he delivers a brilliant performance, Lloyd is fine Klingon villain and a wondrous Horner score
            Star Trek the Undiscovered Country
(1991) - opposite reaction to that of First Contact in that I initially was lukewarm on this film but with every viewing I have liked it more and more
            Star Trek the Menagerie
(1966) - I am cheating by including this as a movie but this two part TOS episode is so brilliant it deserves to be included here, it is everything the best in science fiction should be, masterful use of the original pilot, the final moments still get to me
Star Trek the Wrath of Khan
(1982) - to me Khan is right up there with the best villains in movie history, the entire cast of Star Trek here has never been better, Shatner and Nimoy are especially brilliant and the Horner score is almost the best in Star Trek film history, I do prefer the theatrical cut
            Star Trek the Motion Picture

            • a daring film that, rather than coast on the success of Star Wars and make a shoot em up action adventure film in the tradition of Flash Gordon instead is presented as a slow moving, thoughtful, cerebral and epic film more like 2001 a space odyssey, the overall look of the film is truly astonishing and Jerry Goldsmith's score is one of the greatest in film history, I much prefer the director's cut
