    What would it be?
There are a lot to choose from. Saved by the Bell had The Max, Boy Meets World had Chubby's, Full House had The Smash Club, Family Matters had Rachel's, 90210 had The Peach Pit, etc.
My choice would be The Max. I wish I had a hangout like that when I was in school. You could go off campus during lunch period and eat there with your friends. It didn't seem like the kids ever paid for food (or ate it lol). The place was bright and colorful, and of course, you had the owner performing magic tricks. The Max was an awesome hangout.

The Max remind me of the hangout spot on California Dreams. Both were bright and colorful.
My hangout spot would be The Peach Pit.

Definitely Central Perk, I would love a chill coffee shop with live performances.

omg duh! I totally would hang out at The Bronze. Did you notice that when Buf was in HS it was like a coffee house HS hang out then when she was an adult it was more like a bar for adults.

Next time Buffy come on TV as a re-run I'm going to try to stay watching the show. I can't remember what The Bronze hang out looked like.

How about that spot in the later episodes of Sister, Sister or the place where they hung out on Moesha?

I'd have to go with "Cheers" (give or take 3 years) on this one, although I wouldn't mind chillin' it with the talking dolphin aboard a submarine on "seaQuest".

Add me to the Monk's Diner list. I spent many hours in greasy diners in the 90's anyway!
Cheers kind of does exist. The Boston location used for the exterior shot is now a bar called Cheers (though the interior is different) and there's also a Cheers restaurant in Faneuil Hall for tourists.
