My
favourite
1960s TV series is a forgotten British series called "Marriage Lines". Either that, or the Australian series "Homicide". My favourite American series of the 1960s is "Bewitched", strangely enough.
Not sure which 1960s series I'd consider to be
best
though.

The really enduring and still influential - and extremely entertaining - is.Star Trek: The Original Series.
Accept no substitutes.
In second place: Mission:Impossible.

The long running TV series made in the 60's and re-broadcast throughout the 80's, called simply COMBAT, (I'm not shouting, I remember this title in striking red capitals on a black background).
I watched this on TV as a youth and was impressed by the depth & range in storylines, great acting and enough action to keep it faithful to the title but I think most of all the show addressed issues such as battle fatigue/shell shock (now known as PTSD), the discipline required for duty and other emotive topics or sub-plots without leaving a bad taste in your mouth after watching each episode.
For all those that have served, to all those who serve today and all those still to serve My deepest respects. -

3 personal favorites -
- NAKED CITY
- THRILLER
- THE FUGITIVE
Great Writing & Acting
Excellent Casting
Many later movies & TV ripped stories and plots from these.
Hard to say, I guess NAKED CITY rules .
