This montage of Cinematic Rude Awakenings

made me think if there are any movies where people wake up 'normally' after a bad dream.
One of the comments to the montage above says:
The best waking from a bad dream is from 1979's "Phantasm." The character simply opens his eyes with very little expression. Probably the most realistic "rude awakening" in film.
I myself do not remember any scenes like this in any movie I've seen.

I've always thought that this was one of the most ludicrous tropes. It is very widely used but rarely happens in real life.
In fact it is actually pretty difficult to lie on your back, under covers, and then rapidly sit bolt upright. Try it.
Hate leads to anger.
