Tenet- not seen
I'm thinking of ending things- not seen
Shutter Island- one of my favourites. Definitely needs a second viewing.
Donnie Darko- confusing for sure but a fun ride.
Mulholland Drive- not seen
Interstellar- never wanted to watch it a second time.
Nocturnal Animals - not seen
The Shining- Loved it, didn't find it particularly confusing.
Arrival- enjoyed it, not particularly confusing if I remember correctly.
Fight Club- saw the twist coming but still a great film.
Predestination - not seen
Matrix- yep, needed to watch it a few times! Never bothered with sequels.
Memento- sorry but I hated it! Pointlessly convoluted, I'm sure I'm in the minority thpugh.
Inception- same as Memento. If it's too confusing what's the point?
2001- hated it first time round but watched it about 10 years later with fresh eyes and really enjoyed it. Obviously it is a complete head ****. -

Did you pick up on the ending of Shutter Island where he was faking to going back to acting like the marshall instead of the patient so that he could get the lobotomy to forget his wife and kids?
Knowing that makes it even better.

As for The Shining, I think what a lot of folks don't get is the end where you see Jack in that old B & W photo from the party in the 1920's.
I dunno what that was about either.

I missed this post. I remember thinking it was OK. Did what it set out to do as some kind of CGI visual feast. A worse version of DwW, with dialogue I doubt anyone could recite even a single quote from. People seemed to either love or hate it but I'm lukewarm.
Now that I've said Memento is dogshit and Avatar is OK, can someone please tag Orson to facilitate my ceremonious obliteration? Thank you. -
