It's not that it's terrible. It's just immemorable. I remember a few key points, but not a whole lot of it. Just felt like a collection of moments and jokes; the Family Guy of the Star Wars franchise.
Say what you will about the prequels. At least they were memorable. They're fun to rag on. The basic outline of the story is good. I like that it details the decline of republic into empire. George needed to work with another writer who was good with dialogue, and have someone else direct it. -

Not completely. They were enjoyable on first watch in the theater, but I haven't had an urge to rewatch like I do with most movies I enjoy.
Being terrible would've made them more interesting. -

They need to commit to destroying the Jedi and bring true balance to the force. Also stop focusing on Skywalkers.
The Last Jedi at least had a nice Ratatouille moment when Adam Driver told Rey that not everybody can be one with the force, but the force can come from anyone. And then of course immediately ruined the whole thing in the next movie when she's secretly a Palpatine.
Or they could just lean into the memes and make a whole series based on Patton Oswalt's filibuster. -

I never read the EU, but I've heard so much about it. Not sure why they didn't explore some of those stories on film.
Also kind of wish the sequels would've been more like the EU. They took elements, but it was much more of a mess. -

That's just one partof the problem, but yes, she is like the movie equivalent of cheating in a video game. You put the code in, and all your stats are perfect. Maybe you have ultra speed, invincibility⦠whatever. She's lioe the opposite of say, Sarah Connor of Terminator. You see a real transformation there from ordinary to badass, and you believe the transition.

What are the other reasons? Story is character, character is growth. Without growth, there's no story.
If you're noticing that there are no memorable moments it's because there are no moments of character development. -
