Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Hannah John-Kamen

I just watched a few episodes of Killjoys for the first time the past few nights, and Hannah has floored me.
She's absolutely magnetic, she chews scenery like a veteran actor, she's outstanding as Dutch, she has an amazingly beautiful voice, her eyes are stunning, and she is absolutely singular in her gorgeousness.
    I mean, wow.
I also have to say, I'm so over the action girl cliche other actresses in those roles usually try way too hard to be tough and domineering, and seeing 105-pound women destroying heavily muscled men twice their size is getting beyond cliche into ridiculousness.
BUTin Hannah's hands, Dutch is a great character. She brings the baditude in spades without seeming forced, and she has a knack for delivering lines with withering sarcasm. One of my favorites was when she walked into the bar while people were fighting, fired her pistol, and said: "I have a headache, a badge, and a gun. Behave." Then went and got a drink. As Dutch, she has bravado, but she doesn't seem to take herself too seriously and she never seems like she's trying to prove how tough she is.
Compare that to Melissa O'Neil's wooden performance in Dark Matter, or any number of forgettable actresses playing tough girl roles in TV and film.
If I were a casting agent, I'd be all over Hannah before her career goes nuclear and getting her for a project becomes a difficult task.
