It would help if you’re looking to lose weight. A gastric band isn’t necessarily going to reduce a mental illness though, unless it’s an eating disorder, perhaps.

Miley, it sounds like you have problems you're trying to work through. I'm not sure I even know what "mentally ill" means. None of us are perfect. Talk to your therapist.
