I can totally see that in a movie, the initial explosion, the people standing around for a few seconds confused and shocked and then BANG! The shockwave hits, instantly upping the ante.
People gave Cloverfeild a lot of stick because Hud kept on yelling OH MY GAHD OH MUAH GAWD but this clip right here just shows you how true to reality it actually was.
