Does anyone know to what Cristin was referring when she said she used to do some detective work on one of the last episodes of HIMYM?

Whenever Ted sensed that something had happened with one of his friends, one of his things was to let them know that as a kid, he was a bit of a detective. He and his younger sister were "The Mosby Boys" and they cracked some pretty BIG cases, like The Case of the Missing Retainer (it was in the trash can).
They all had a good laugh watching his flex his sleuthing muscles! HIMYM featured Ted doing his detective bit for his friends in a few episodes. He even mentioned it to Tracy on their first date after she saw Louis on the street. Just one more way that they both are cute, a but dorky and complement one another so well.

Maybe I'm reading way to much into this, but I think it might have been a reference to Year Of The Carnivore, where Cristin played a grocery store detective. I don't remember the line, because I've wiped most of HIMYM from memory, but she gets quite naked in the movie, soo ya know, it could have been a self-referential line put in before the two wankers/creators committed career suicide; a little nod to the fact that now she's a regular guest on their show, she no longer has to agree to show her hairy box to the world in order to get roles.
Like I said, maybe I'm overthinking it.
