I am confused, because i am Greek and i know that Milioti is a Greek surname not Italian, in fact i have friends with this surname, so i am not so sure for her "italian" background

She could be both. It's possible for a person to have two ethnicities. Maybe one parent is Greek and the other is Italian.

Well my last name is La Rosa which comes from the Italian side of my family. But I have also seen people from other countries with the same last name because it is of Latin origin, meaning the rose.

Milioti is also a surname in Italy, (I' m Italian) but it origins from Sicily, and that area in ancient times was part of Greece, so many names from the area have ancient Greek roots
Still I do not see the importance of this, let' s say she has Mediterranean roots, but she' s born and raised in the US, so I don' t really think she has any connection to wherever she came from.

With a name like Milioti she has to have some type of Italian ancestry. Anyway, IMDb says she half Italian and half Irish and something else. Forgetting the other quarter of her.
