      She dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. This has been stated multiple times.

        Carol took two years to start filming after she was cast, plus the original director dropped out in the meantime also due to conflicts.
        Mia was dying to work with Cate but a decision had to be made. St happens.

          Peak isn't out yet. Mia could get awards for her role in that. It's still early yet.
