Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Jaime Lee Kirchner

Poor Jaime. I recently realized that she usually gets to play tough, nasty young women. It certainly makes it more difficult to build a fan base that way. People in general sometimes have a tendency to associate actors with the roles they play. Actors can become idolized or demonized purely based on the characters they portray, regardless of what kind of person they are in real life.
Hollywood has long been good at creating images. It's an astute actor who can direct his career in such a way as to create a "desirable" image for him/herself. Then again, many actors are certainly happy just to be working at all and will take what they can get. So, keep keeping on!

I just remembered her as the brash sports reporter on NR. I liked her role as a "not easy" girl. Her character made ol boy work for the opp to date her. That was a positive for her as an actress in my book [assuming she picked the role and didnt just take it for the paycheck, but either way a good choice].
I hope that her current role in TMD develops into one that will extend/accelerate her career, and in a more positive light that will make her even more desirable/in demand as an actress.
fyi, I've never seen Jordana Spiro in a drama, I figured she would ride the comedy/sitcom train; TMD will be good for her career, if it makes the cut, looks good so far. Should be good for Jaime too.
