AC in private homes just didnt make sense (until very recently maybe, thanks to global warming) just like a fridge in the arctic polar regions would not make sense (yet}
most public spaces and offices here do have ACs tho.

Oh, that's good about public places and work places having it. (Hippies against air conditioning won't think it's good though, I guess.)
