Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Jonah Hill

I'm not defending JH. Actually, i don't particularly care for him. However, i wish people weren't so evil about picking on his weight. Obesity is extremely difficult and is often bourne from very tough habits to break and a dangerous perspective about the joy of bad-for-you food. I don't want to get into science or psychology, cuz i am no expert, but i will say that i think the best thing folks can do is support people with obesity and if they are in-the-know help open doors to learn more about getting educated and getting the help they need. I hope JH can reclaim hos health before it's too late. I'll get off my soapbox now. Sorry for being so preachy but fat-shaming gets me very upset. Seen too many lives cut short ecause of morbid obesity.

There's nothing to understand. Obese people just need to stop stuffing their damn face like a greedy disgusting pig. I know, I was a fat fuq myself. You can't get fat if your body has no material to build fat with, that material is food. Use some common sense, stop eating so fuqing much. The more you eat the bigger your stomach expands causing you to want to eat even more food to feel full, and it snowballs from there.
It is your damn fault if you let yourself get morbidly fat. It means you're weak, lazy, and unwilling to help yourself. Whining about being fat-shamed is cowardly, you deserve to be ridiculed. You either use that as motivation to get off your azz and fix yourself or you could just lay down and die from being a disgusting putrid fat fuq and nobody will give a sht. Welcome to reality.

Attitudes like the one above me are why obesity will never get the medical attention it needs. Sure, stuffing your face and lack of exercise will cause you to gain weight, no doubt. But why is it different in certain people? I have a friend who can eat and eat and eat and not gain a pound. Then I have a friend who can breath food and gain 20lbs. Why is this? They are the same age, height, background, color etc and yet they are total opposites when it comes to eating and gaining weight. THIS is what needs to be studied and fixed for obese people.

Your assess5b4ment is fair for normal people, but you have to be one lazy, undisciplined disgusting fat body to be obese in Hollywoodespecially somebody at Jonah Hill's level.
These celebrities can have a personal trainer, personal chef, a nutritionist, an assistant or a plastic surgeon to help keep the weight off.
It's the same thing with that show The Biggest Loser. If all you have to do is worry about getting in shape, then it's not that difficult. In that show, they have people helping them out to ensure they lose weight. Andit's similar with people in Hollywood.
The people who deserve the most respect are the normal people who work 40-50 hours a week and have a family. It's difficult for them to motivate themselves and find the time to stay in shape. I can almost give regular joes a pass, but for a celeb to be obese is inexcusable.
Could you imagine how big Jonah Hill would be if he weren't friends with Dustin Hoffman's kids? Or if his dad didn't work with celebs? OMGhe'd be close to 500 pounds!!

your post is mean, but i agree. i jog 800 miles a year and still wish i had more muscle definition. it takes hard work to stay fit and look good, especially in your 30s and later. people who are fat are lazy. you can't get fat without stuffing your goddamn face first with awful things. get a clue fatties.

How can you say "your post is mean" and then continue to belittle people with weight issues by calling them "fatties?" What the beep is wrong with you? I'm healthy and in damn good shape.. now. But at one point in my life, I realized that my clinical depression had made me eat nothing. I had no appetite. I was far too skinny. Then I got on meds that helped me eat. For the first time in years, I could eat! Then I ate too much. I became far too heavy. I needed to make some changes. I made those changes but it took me a while. I had gotten into some bad eating habits and it was hard to break them. But thank God I was 6'3 and had a naturally fast metabolism. If not, I would probably be obese. These people who struggle with weight these "fatties" you call them is so juvenile and I hope you realize not everyone can have it as easy as you. Even though I know these words mean nothing to a prick like you, maybe try heeding them.
TL;DR: Don't be a dick. For lots of people - skinny or obese - genetics can make lives tough. So once again, don't be a dick.

lol you are one of those genetics people. let me say this, there are cultures with diets that create ZERO obesity in their societies. americans are cows, when i jog down the sidewalks, i have to dodge big huge cows. there are no obese vegan athletes either, they don't exist. don't give me your genetics crap, stop cramming M&M's down your throat every chance you get and maybe you could lose a calorie or two.
if you are depressed, the only cure would be daily exercise to raise your self confidence and self image. lol dude genetics.. you calling me a dick for pointing out laziness and problems in society haha ok dude go have a pizza.
I edited this post to add that, you say not everyone can have it as easy as me. yeah it's real easy running ten miles every day or two, or running 6 miles two times in the day. lol you trying to play victim, you must be young and raised in this entitlement whiner generation. laughable. yea i have it real easy. jogging daily and eating right. easy.
