Hey, do you think he could have reached this level of fame WITHOUT killing Thompson? Obviously death makes news headlines more juicier, they love interrupting the weather forecast to tell you some asshole just died somewhere, but say if he just held him at gunpoint, he would not have much time because it was Manhattan I'd imagine cops are on every street just about, but he would have a minute at least to pistol whip the guy and make him beg for his life, all caught on CCTV, maybe he could film it himself. Then just surrender to the police when they show up.

That would’ve been a fate worse than death. Although in the heat of the moment it’s difficult to ascertain if one successfully paralyzed someone. I think he shoulda shot Thompson in the dick instead.
