First it was celebrated by the pagans and the druids over the changing of the seasons and the return to longer daylight.
The the Christians took it over under the guise of the birth of Christ of which exact date is unknown.
And now it belongs to the merchants who get us to spend our money on gifts so they can profit from the madness of Christmas commercialism and shopping days.

      Christmas hasn't changed. PEOPLE changed.
But I still love Christmas cheer whether I have money or not because December 25th was the day Christ was born.

        Christmas has changed.
At first there never was a Christmas.
"December 25th was the day Christ was born."
        Proof?
