It's nice to have a new project to post about. We'll learn the shoot date pretty soon. I should start to read the tome by Antonia Fraser in near future. I had started it before the project seemed to be lost in limbo, but it was quite dense with a whole head-spinning section concerning the precise genealogy of her ancestors.

Yes, there's an abundance of literature about Mary Stuart. I find it very intriguing that Mary never met her cousin, Elizabeth I. Yet, Elizabeth was extremely jealous of Mary for being married three times and barring a child (a son), and referred to her as a ''whore''.

The thirst for the throne/power probably accounted for those feelings. Hopefully this version gets more acclaim than the last one made just within the past two years.

I haven't seen the 2013 version, but it seems quite mediocre. I'm sure Working Title/Universal want to make this version more epic and commercially successful!

Yes, I remember reading a brief review filed by a critic from one of the festivals, but it sort of dropped off a cliff after that point. I checked the RT page for info, but judging by the lack of reviews, I assume the film didn't acquire a distributor here in the U.S.
I'm glad you mentioned Working Title because they (as you know) are a fine production company with a track record of making quality films. In2000 addition, I believe it's fair to say this specific material is right in their wheelhouse.

Nobody need to worry, this adaptation of Mary Queen of Scots is bound to have great production values.
Because, after all, considering the latest adaptation of MQS' life, the only way is up. And by latest, I mean the CW's "
                Reign
", which, I mean, just look at this trailer! This beep is slumming it for the CW's standards in the late 00's, it's hilariously disgraceful for the standout output of the CW's now!

                Reign
to the news about the film, it's so beautiful to read all those teens crying out in pain "IT'S SOOOO UNFAAAIIIR, [generic white actress cast as MQS] IS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN PLAY MARY"! They're just finding out about Hollywood ranks for the first time!

You have a fine sense of humor cadelano. The images are quite pretty, as are most of the people.
It feels like a modern soap opera transported to that time with good production values for T.V.

Do you mean they're commenting on the upcoming project with Saoirse? If so, they have little or no knowledge about the elite talent in film today.

I don't know much about Mary, weda0 don't learn about her history here in Brazil, from what I remember, in high school, we jump from Elizabeth straight to James Stuart. I am definitely checking out some documentaries about her.

Oh you should! There are plenty on YouTube! Mary was quite a character.

I know very little as well, but perhaps I'll fully read through the his2000tory I have here in the near future.
