Experienced both and both have pros and cons. I miss the excitement of big ones from familial dysfunction, but this boring one has its perks. I actually love all the people involved.

Small is not necessarily boring.
We had a great time today, our best Thanksgiving yet, knowing it will be the last time we celebrate in our kid's childhood home.
Lots of drama, memories, food and drink.
A Saturday night special is an EVERYDAY special.

It is boring, but nice. I used to see family you would probably get along with greatly because y'all are conservative lol. Though weirdly, my Trump supporting uncle wasn't a Covid skeptic.

Not a Covid denier (although I'm not vaxxed and will not get vaxxed) and would prefer not to get into that atm
