Michael2000 had them wear mask to protect their id and have them live a normal life. Well now she cant, she told Ellen she thought it was stupid that they had to wear mask everytime they went out in public. If she had of kept her mask on even after her father died she would be a normal teenager and no one would even know who she is til this day. Michaels behavoir may have been weird but keeping a mask on them was the smartest thing hed done, whats going on with them today is exactally what he was trying to protect his children from.

If you think about it.. Who would know how to raise a small child in fame better than him? Normal people really would have no clue and would gravitate to invalid comparisons in their own lives.
Even Hale Berry is trying to pass legislation to stop media photography of all children to the stars. Essentially the same thing Michael was trying to do Just less.. Unusual. -

Imagine how annoying it would be that every random person has an opinion on how to live your life? It's not like you can wear a mask forever. My guess is that she craves the normal life that she doesn't have.
