Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Paris Jackson

    Pdogg1985 — 14 years ago(February 16, 2012 04:11 PM)

You know ever since the news came out several years ago that Michael Jackson molested those kids I honestly believed it but for some reason I don't anymore. I just find it fishy that the kids and parents recanted once they were giving money, I really don't care what this post starts to be honest, I just had to get this off my chest. With that said I have to say that he did have a really good voice and was a great entertainer, I think my fav performance was the Superbowl that one year,it was priceless. He was also a really great father and the tele funeral the only one that seemed to really be upset in his family other than the kids was Janet, other than that I think the rest was beyond faked. I really never cry watching stuff but when Paris said what she did that really got to me, I really feel sorry for the kids and again I don't care what anyone says but the grandpa mostly is trying to push those kids cause he wants money money money I think and I really feel sorry for them. Please opinions from everyone on everything I said. Thanks.

You are just a really really stupid person that knows absolutely nothing. lol
Did you even see the mult-locks on his bedroom door so that he wouldn't be disturbed while he was playing with the "kids" that he invited over?

I agree with this part. Although money helps you get through pain; any parent who's child was molested would not allow the guy to get off that easy. Since when should money be more important than children? By taking his money and not pursuing it, they are allowing other kids the possibility of getting molested. Unless they lied and set the whole thing up knowing this would happen.
I would like to believe Michael did not molest anyone.

In an ideal world, people would would have put MJ in jail for his crimes instead of just taking the money, but the reality is people don't want to go to court and tell the whole world about being a victim of homosexual abuse, they don't want to be smeared in the press and Internet and be constantly stalked and threatened by MJ's crazy fans, so they take the money and hide. Keep in mind that the 1993 accuser won a $25 million settlement. That's equivalent to about $40 million in today's dollar. A family would have to be crazy to turn down that much money, and anyone who says they wouldn't take the money is lying.

Do you not understand how civil courts work? People sue in civil court for money. The court basically decides two things: liability & damages. Any time before the jury or judge finds for one side or the other the defendant can offer a settlement. Basically their lawyer goes to the plaintiff's lawyer and says "My client told me to ask if your client will take this much instead of the amount they sued for." Then the plaintiff's lawyer asks the plaintiff & the plaintiff says yes, no, or makes a counteroffer in between the two numbers. If an amount is agreed on then the lawyers let the judge know a settlement was reached, the defendant pays the plaintiff, and the court case ends. Not because anybody recanted, but because you already got the thing you sued for (money) so there's nothing left for the court decide.
Every lawsuit regarding MJ & molestation was a civil suit; there was never a criminal case filed in court. Private citizens can't even file criminal cases in court, only states can. That's why every criminal case in California is named California v. insert criminal's name here.
