Let me start out by saying that Peart is probably my favorite lyric writer. I think his lyrics are more well written then any other band in the rock industry, and you could tell that he puts a lot of heart into them. However, he occasionally has a misfire that just sounds terribly awkward. I think over the years he's improved, and their latest albums have extremely solid song lyrics, but lets look at some of the lame ones. My personal least favorite is off the "Signals" album. The song "The Weapon" contains the following lyrics:
He's a little bit afraid of dying
But he's a lot more afraid of your lying
That makes me cringe a bit every time I hear it. What are yours?
"Panic. It crept up my spine like first rising vibes of an acid frenzy."-raoul duke -

My least favorite is on Something for Nothing, "You won't get wise with the sleep still in your eyes." It's the ly5b4ric as well as the delivery. It just bugs me. On the other hand, the lyrics to The Spirit of Radio, Jacob's Ladder, Limelight, and countless others are incredible. I guess all bands have the occasional misstep. For instance, Black Sabbath's Solitude, "Guess I will go home, sit down and moan" is very hokey. Another one is The Doors, The Unknown Soldier, "Bullet strikes the helmet's head."
