Diana was a good mother and we can assume would be a good grandmother. But why does that automatically mean that Camilla was not a good mother to her two children and cannot be a good grandmother to her husband's grandchild?

I agree yes its very sad that Diana is not here to see and meet her grandson but William and Harry will tell him and any children either of them have about Diana. They will know Diana as their grandmother. Camilla already has grandchildren via her children so Im sure she will be a fine grandmother to this little boy as well as any future siblings and cousins, they will know that she is their step-grandmother. Had Diana not died William'1c84s children would just have had three living grandmothers to love and dote on them. Some kids don't have any grandmas living.

I'm not saying she's horrible but the fact that Charles was messing around with Camilla during most of his marriage to Diana just makes it weirder for her to be the step grandma. I'm not saying that she'd treat them bad. For all I know, she has a decent relationship with William and Harry.

I understand your thinking. But you are not looking at the bigger picture. Poor old Charles was practically pushed into an arranged marriage. He loved Camilla long before Diana ever came along. And it is difficult to blame Charles for not being strong enough as I am sure it would have been virtually impossible to stand up against The Establishment.
So, the kid's grandparents were having sex. I think he will learn to live with that. -
