Why doi they have Hindi names? Both children have Asian Indian names, yet they are native Mericanwere they Hindus or Hari Krishnas? Those names seem unusual for black parents in America in the early 70s.

        Akbar (Afr name)?
Akbar is a name of Arabic origin, not African.

Ananda isn't a "Hindi name"; it's a name of Sanskrit origin. Maybe you meant Hindu name? And I think it's really a male name and it should be Anand. I guess Ananda would be for females or something. Also, "Indian name" isn't exactly accurate either since the names wouldn't only be found among Indians as not all Hindus are from India (and also many Indians are not Hindu).
BTW, why do people say "Asian Indian"? That's redundant. Indians are from Asia; Native Americans and Caribbean people aren't Indian.

Actually, there are people of black and Indian descent in the South American country of Guyana, and in Jamaicaboth black and Indian folks were brought there to work on the plantations around the 17th or 18th centuries,I think (the black folks as slaves, the Indians as indentured servants,I'm presuming) and they all integrated together over a couple of centuriesmixed black and Indian folks are called the name "dougla" if I'm not mistaken-I read that somewhere.
