Do American cops demand you to take down your hood when they speak to u?

If you are wearing a hoodie with the hood up at the time? This seems to be a standard part of policing in the UK. Have seen it happen many times and has happened to me once too.
If you refuse they ALWAYS say one of two things ( or both ).- " I need to see your face " It is a ****ing hood dude not a ****ing ski mask.
- " It is making me nervous " well if a guy wearing a hood is making you nervous despite the fact you have a PARTNER and a TASER and a BATON then perhaps you are in the wrong ****ing job, knobhead.
In my case it was number 2.
I should point out that they dont just waltz up to people in hoods and demand they take it down, they do it if they want to speak to you about whatever.

Hmmmm, Dane is always very interested in police issues.

However, here the police tend to ask you to pull down your pants.
Probably to check whether an arrest is worth it.
