Morrissey fans for years we always knew Morrissey wasn't straight. But I found it silly during interviews where Morrissey would always play these games with the press. Anyone who has paid attention to Morrissey's career since he started with The Smiths songs like Hand in Glove, Charming Man, and numerous songs from his solo career KNEW Morrissey is at least bisexual.
Glad that Morrissey talked about his relationship with Jake Walters, it shows Morrissey has finally grown up a bit, and has more confidence around his sexuality.
I also think Morrissey never wanted to be a LGBT campaigner like say Elton John or other gay celebs.

Did he flat out say he was 'gay'? I thought he claimed to be 'humasexual'? I still need to get the autobiography.
I think his long-term avoidance of coming out was a combination of wanting to maintain his privacy and to avoid becoming a 'gay icon', as it could have distracted from his artistry.

Morrissey doesn't explicitly say he is gay but the man is clearly not heterosexual. Morrissey talks about girls were interested in him when he was a young man BUT he wasn't interested. Morrissey also talks about a boxer Jake Walters he had a homosexual relationship with for two years.

There were three significant relationships he mentioned in his autobiography: two with men (Jake and "Gelato") and one with a woman (Tina), but everyone seemed to have their attention on the "Jake" bit.
I know two bisexual guys who also thought of themselves as gay until they fell in love with women (each with one) a few years ago. One is still with the woman he fell in love with. As for the other, the relationship ended and he is with a man now, but he says he cannot any longer consider himself gay after that. Maybe this happened to Morrissey? I don't know.
He talks lovingly in particular of Jake and Tina. He contemplated having a child with Tina.
As I see it after reading his autobiography, he stroke me as a bisexual leaning more towards men, and Humasexual was his way to say bisexual. But we will never really know.
Maybe I am biased because I am bisexual myself and because of my two bi guy friends.

I interpreted it as the last poster did, Morrissey is bisexual but more attuned to men. I'm not sure the original poster actually read the book.

He would not want to be labeled as gay, bisexual, or straight.
I myself have only been with women so far, but would find it foolish to ignore chemistry and attraction with a man.
I much rather be happy with a man than unhappy with a woman. In the end, it does not matter, the only lines and barriers you cross are the ones you create for yourself.

Well, duhanybody into his music (like I used to be) and anyone who's read his interviews, probably figured that out a long time ago. No big surprise there, lol. I always thought he was strange, but that's what made him such an interesting dude to begin with.
