The driveway isn't very long, maybe he thought it was in park ran out real quick to check the gate/mail but the car started rolling right when he got behind it and he couldn't get out in time and got pinned. Idk man the whole thing is so messed up such a random and tragic way to die I feel so awful for his parents. I was hoping this was a hoax when I first read it.

I was on holiday in Greece at the time this news came out, and was staying in a villa with a very steep driveway, with a keypad at the gate.
It made it very eda0asy to imagine the scenario, and I wouldn't actually be surprised if he had been facing the vehicle coming down towards him, if he sort of tried to stop it - it's sort of instinctive to immediately make that movement if you see a car rolling. I've seen people do it before, with smaller cars, on small slopes going slowly, and it seems like a automatic response - because humans generally react in that way, even though logically we know we could never stop that sort of weight/size.
I just hope he didn't see it coming.
