Ed Wynn is one of those people who had such a unique voice that voice artists began "doing" his voice for characters.
Wally Gator
Mayor McCheese (from the McDonald's commercials)
Mummy (from "The Groovie Goolies")
I'm sure there must be a lot more, but those are the ones that come to mind immediately -

Richard Sherman who was one of the producers of the Mary Poppins songs, does a damn good impression238 of Ed Wynn in this version of "I Love to Laugh." It was put out by Disney for children's records back in the early 60's
Richard's version has a bit of a British accent to it. Ed's does not. But they are very similar:

What a good thread theme. Wynn truly had an iconic voice. Interesting that it found it's way to so many cartoon 'tributes'. I've been watching a few of his '49 TV show episodes. Very nostalgic. He gives a wonderfully heartfelt tribute to his long time friend, performer Victor Moore, in one ep. that's very moving.
They were the best episodes (don't believe I will ever be too old to enjoy cartoons!)
