Just watched the episode by accident on Sci Fi too. I was cracking up. He looked young. I'm accustomed to him always playing 'the old crazy black guy'.

The imdb credits overlooked "The Richard Pryor Show" where he played a reporter. John said he & Rich were mad cool and Rich would come to his shows.
John also was an early Black male model. And he said he was in a film with Sofia Lauren. -

I believe that he was a writer on "Good Times" long before "The Incredible Hulk." I also believe that is where he became friends with David Letterman (yes, that David Letterman), who was his best man at his wedding and is the godfather of his son.
